Dreams Do Come True!

"Never give up fighting for your dreams. They do come true."
Kevin Rempel

Gosh, I've been waiting to write this post for a LONG time and now that time has come I feel like I don't know how to put it all into words and do the experience the justice it deserves. As always it's your fondest memories and the things you're most passionate about that are the most difficult to write about but I'll try nonetheless.

My Week In Words | #8 2015

"There are good and bad times, but our mood changes more often than our fortune."
Thomas Carlyle

Welcome to My Week In Words! I had a great week this week, full of shopping, sister time and ice hockey. This post covers from Sunday 15th to Saturday 21st of February

As usual I worked on last weeks My Week In Words on Sunday. You can see what I got up to last week here.  My aunt Karen didn't visit as usual on a Sunday as my granny wasn't well and ended up being taken to hospital in an ambulance with chest pains. Luckily after a bunch of tests it turned out to be a bad Angina attack and not a heart attack. Still, my aunt Karen and granda ended up staying with her in hospital until about 6 or 7am the next morning. It was a very difficult time for my aunt, granda and my granny as my granny was very upset and confused and just a scary time in general for us all. With all that going on, the highlight of Sunday was finishing season 6 of RuPaul's Drag Race and seeing this queen crowned! Such a deserved winner.

Arts 'n' Crafts | Paper Craft Hedgehogs

Howdy and welcome to the latest edition of my Arts 'n' Crafts series. You may remember for my first DIY craft post I did some Paper Craft Christmas Trees. Well as that particular DIY went down so well I decided to do this week's post is in that same vein. In that post I included a photo of a paper craft hedgehog my mum made me in and that is what I'll be making this week. So on with the show!

I decided to make this hedgehog as the one my mum made me is a little big for where I'm displaying it but it has actually been really handy for keeping hair clips. So I sent out to make a smaller version.

The hedgehog my mum made displayed beside my new lantern.

Lots Of Goodies For Bloo!

"I believe anybody who is not afraid to fail is a winner."
Joe Torre

Howdy everyone and welcome to my 100th published post! Yay for milestones! Anyway, you may remember I recently entered a giveaway over on Underland to Wonderland. I really enjoyed taking part because it was different than a lot of the giveaways I see floating about and you got to be creative. Basically you had to create a hidden Mickey any way you wanted. You can see my entry here. I was also really looking forward to seeing what other people came up with. When Danielle announced who won I was completely shocked it was me! I loved the diversity in the entries. You can check them out here.

You're probably wondering why I'm bringing this up AGAIN when I've already written about it. Well that is because this arrived yesterday!

My Week In Words | #7 2015

"Learn to love yourself, 'cause if you can't love yourself, how the hell you gonna love somebody else?"

Welcome to this week's instalment of My Week In Words. This week's post covers from Sunday 8th to Saturday 14th of February. Please enjoy!

Sunday went like most other Sundays. In the morning I worked on last week's My Week In Words, you can find that here, and my aunt Karen visited for our usual catch up. Before I started taking the antidepressants I'm on now I was very tired all the time. I figured it was the anxiety wearing me out. Since I've started taking the antidepressants I've been feeling even more tired. On Sunday I was in bed by 9pm. Probably the earliest I've been in bed in years.

On Monday I had to get up at 7am as my mum was still in England and Eva and my dad both started work at 8am. I usually like having time to myself during the day but it was a slightly different matter being alone for such a long time. My dad and Eva wouldn't be in until after 4pm, but dad did visit at around 12:30 to get my lunch. I needed something to pass the time and decided to watch RuPaul's Drag Race for the first time after seeing a couple of the drag queens from season 5 and 6 on Youtube. I started with season 5 and fell in love instantly. I ended up watching half of season 5 on Monday and it inspired a new blog series and my post for Tuesday which I started that night.

Valentines Special #1

So it's Valentines Day and you're single. Every other day of the year you don't care so much but there's an extra sting to it when everyone else is shoving their love down your throat. You need an escape! When it comes to living vicariously there's nothing quite like a movie! Preferably a movie that guarantees you the sickly sweet happily ever after.

So here are five great  movies to live vicariously through if you're feeling lonely this Valentines Day.

First up is a golden oldie, Seven Brides For Seven Brothers. What's more romantic than kidnapping and Stockholm syndrome? Nothing! Am I right? Not to mention the romantic setting of a cabin in the middle of nowhere and the the fact it's also a musical just makes this a great fit for Valentines Day. Who doesn't want to watch a bunch of young attractive mountain men singing and dancing? And like I said, don't worry about the fact they go out and capture themselves some brides. All of them fall in love with the men that took them by the end of the movie! While I wouldn't advise you use their questionable methods of finding a girlfriend or boyfriend, if you're a lonesome polecat this Valentines Day give this movie a go!

Bloo's Reviews | Matte Me by Sleek

"I want to be a guy, but I want to wear a lot of makeup."
Gwen Stefani

I slightly regret saying in my first make up review that they wouldn't happen very often. I think this is my third now? Oh well. I couldn't resist reviewing this because I LOVE it. Today I'm reviewing Matte Me by Sleek and the shade is Petal.

My Obsessions #1

"When you become the image of your own imagination, it's the most powerful thing you could ever do."

I've decided to do a new series that will pop up every once in a while on Miscellaneous Tuesdays. My Obsessions. This will cover things I've been obsessed with in the past, things I'm currently obsessed with and random things I become obsessed with in the future. Whether it's a book series, television show, actor, sport, social network site etc. You get the idea.

The first obsession I'm going to talk about is Drag Queens. I basically love Drag Queens because they embody everything I am not and everything that I wish I could be. I love that they are dudes, but many are more feminine than I could ever be. They can express themselves and perform in a way I would never have the confidence to, nevermind the talent. They're bold and vibrant and have big personalities. There's so much creativity and artistry behind their outfits and characters. It doesn't matter many of them can't sing because it's fine to mime! And even when their make up and hair is over the top it's usually on point. Not to mention the fact it's totally fine that their make up and hair is over the top. Also many are comedians, actors, make up artists, hair dressers and singers all rolled into one! That's just naming a few reasons I love and envy drag queens.

My Week In Words | #6 2015

"It does not matter how slowly you go as long as you do not stop."

Welcome to this week's instalment of My Week In Words. January has been and gone and personally I feel all in all I've had a good start to the year. Especially when it comes to my blog. This week's edition covers from the Sunday 1st to Saturday 7th of February. This is a VERY long post. If it's too long for you I urge you to skip to Friday at least to read about a great cause.

Arts 'n' Crafts | My Hidden Mickeys

"I only hope that we don't lose sight of one thing - that it was all started by a mouse."
Walt Disney

Welcome to this week's edition of my Arts 'n' Crafts series. This week I took part in Danielle's hidden Mickey giveaway she was holding on her blog, Underland To Wonderland. You probably recognise her from my last post which she also inspired. I really loved how her giveaway was different from the norm and I enjoyed taking part. It was also a lucky coincidence it coincided with a week I needed to do something for my Arts 'n' Crafts series! I found out yesterday that my entry won the competition, which makes it all that more exciting to share it with you. Basically the idea behind the competition was to create something or take a photo of something with a hidden Mickey. If you'd like to check out the other entries you can find them in this post.

Disney Favourites: Animation

This post was inspired by Danielle of Underland To Wonderland. She writes awesome Disney related posts, amongst other things, so if Disney is your thing you should definitely check out her blog! So my actual list of all time favourites is closer to ten movies but I thought that was a little much, so here's a list of five of my favourite animated Disney movies and why I love them. Perhaps I'll make a list of my other favourites in the future.

My Week In Words | #5 2015

"Laziness is nothing more than the habit of resting before you get tired."
Jules Renard

Welcome to this week's My Week In Words! This week's instalment documents from Sunday 25th to Saturday 31st of January. I cannot believe the first month of 2015 has been and gone. I wonder will all months fly in like this one has.
