What's On My Desk

"People think that I must be a very strange person. This is not correct. I have the heart of a small boy. It is in a glass jar on my desk."
Stephen King

I had another post planned for today but I ended up running out of time getting it finished as my sister was coming home from London for a few days and I had to get my room into order. Okay, not completely into order but as good as it's going to get with the amount of stuff I have crammed into it. I figured since I wasn't going to get the other post finished and I didn't want to miss posting as I'm just getting back into the swing of things, I would incorporate tidying with my post! And thus was born the idea for What's On My Desk. Which basically does what it says on the tin. Gives you a run down of what you'll find on my desk!

First we have this, what I call, display tray. I used to have my cactuses on these so I could pull my cactuses towards me when I needed to water them. However, as my cactuses got bigger and also started dying I decided to move them to my windowsill to see if it would help. So my display trays became where I displayed various toys etc. Right now they're mostly taken up by my Zelf collection. I got the trays in a pack of four from IKEA.

On the tray you can see a number of medium Zelfs, a few Littlest Pet Shops, a hockey puck with Ray Sawada on and a little Ice King from Adventure Time.

I also have this lantern from IKEA. It's supposed to hold a t-light but I have my loom band creations in it and use it to display my collars on the top. You can barely see the lantern with the sea of Zelf hair though.

I also have this cup from W5 in Belfast. Eva found two of them in the cupboard the other day. My mum wanted to toss them out but we decided to keep them safe in our rooms. Not too sure what I'm going to use it for yet but it looks pretty and glittery.

To the left of the first display tray we have these two glass vases, also from IKEA.  I love these glass vases. They were £3 each if I remember correctly.

In one you can see my Shopkins collection and in the other is my My Little Pony blind back toy collection. I have a few new ones I have to add to these. I'm a little worried how fast I'm filling up the My Little Pony one though! I don't want to run out of space.

On top I have my Lady Rainicorn plush my best friend Gary got me, along with my Alpacasso Tsum cube and my little blue bunny charm. The latter both from Tofu Cute, which you probably remember from recent posts. I can't wait to get more cuties to attempt to balance on this display.

I then have my newest plant. I don't actually know what it is. I didn't actually plan to keep it here but it fits well over the hole in my desk that is meant for computer cables. The necklaces were from my attempt at artistic photos for my recent post, My Anxiety Tells. However, I kind of thought it looked cool and left them there for now.

I then have this Kilner jar I got a a present from my mum. Right now it's home to miscellaneous blind bag toys until I get another glass vase. I also have the flower I wore to my cousin's wedding in May 2014.

Next to the Kilner jar I have another glass vase which I keep my Zelf minis in. On top I have my two Tsum Tsums. I plan to get so many more of these. Right now I only have Sven from Frozen and Marie from The Aristocats. They are too adorable. I'm on the look out for Kristoff as it feels wrong having Sven without Kristoff! In front of the vase I keep the pins for my pin board.

I then have another display tray of mostly medium and large Zelfs. There's also a couple of My Little Pony toys. I don't really like how these are displayed at the moment and I plan to get new display shelves soon. Right now my shelves are taken up by Monster High dolls, many of which I am planning to sell soon.

I also usually keep something to rest my elbow. Only my right elbow touches the table and it ends up pretty sore sometimes. Right now I have my wrist rest alpaca from Tofu Cute.

My Filofax is always nearby so I can take notes for My Week In Words etc. I also keep random stuff in it like business cards, tickets and Pok√©mon cards. I spare pair of glasses are also usually on my desk as I have two pairs.

Lastly, if I'm working at my desk there is almost always a cup of tea. Whether it's a hot one I'm drinking or a cold one from earlier. This is my favourite mug, my Belfast Giants one. I also have a coaster as my white desk is easily marked. I'd really like a cuter coaster though.

So here is what my desk looks like altogether. It doesn't always look like this. Actually, most of the time it has a bunch of other crap on it such as clothes and pet stuff but this is how I like to have it.

This is my little nook altogether. I have the plaque and poster I got from the Underland To Wonderland giveaway and my hook for my necklaces. Then I have my pin board with my calendars, photos and signed cards from Kevin Rempel etc. I love my little nook and I feel like I've surrounded myself with colourful things I love and they keep my inner child happy and inspire me. I just wish my laptop was a little smaller as with all these toys there ain't much room for it anymore!

Do you like your workspace minimal or full of things you love like I do?

    1. Thank you! It might seem cluttered to some but I love it. Lol. Oh gosh, I find most things that are cute addictive. Only good thing is nowhere local sells them and the Disney Store postage online means I don't shop there often. I did, however, find them in a random store the other day and I bought two more. It's so hard to choose though! Sorry, I'm not sure about the quote. I found it online and it just said Stephen King. xo

  3. I love the way you have your desk, it's completely you and I adore all of the little Zelfs and toys, especially your Rainicorn plush, that' so cute! I'm a big Adventure Time fan, I love it. My desk is a little bit similar to yours but I'm going through a bit of a cleaning up phase and am wanting to change a lot of it around so it's more minimal and botanical so this has inspired me to get on with it! - Tasha

    1. Haha, thank you! It's a little cluttered but that's me down to a tee. LOL. Yeah, they are highly addictive! My addiction has cooled down a bit but when I first started collecting I had about 5 mediums and a bunch of minis in less than a week. A new line just came out but I'm trying to be good. I don't have space for too many more right now. Haha.

Yeah! My best friend Gary got me her. I LOVE her. Next I just need a Lumpy Space Princess soft toy. Not want, NEED. xD Haha, glad you enjoyed the post! xo
