The Love / Hate Tag!

The Love / Hate Tag
"Without contraries is no progression. Attraction and repulsion, reason and energy, love and hate, are necessary to human existence."
William Blake

It's been a little while since I've done a tag. I've been nominated to do a few but they were ones I'd already completed once or twice before and I was a bit worried I wouldn't have good answers and that people were getting bored of seeing the same tags anyway. However when Danielle or Underland To Wonderland tagged me to do the Love/Hate tag, my love for these things was reignited as I've never been nominated for this one before. That being said, I appreciate all nominations and I'm still grateful even if I don't end up completing them all. Anyway, on with the rules!

RULES
List ten things you love and ten things you hate.
Tag 10 other bloggers to do the tag next.

Love

I've decided to go with things that aren't the obvious, such as my pets, family, toys etc. So in no particular order:

1. Spinning around and driving fast in my electric wheelchair.
Yep. I've owned an electric wheelchair for 20 years now and the novelty still hasn't worn off. I love spinning in circles, driving fast and taking sharp turns. I also love driving fast through crowded areas, like around the SSE (that still doesn't feel right) arena on hockey nights, attempting not to hit people. I haven't mowed anybody down yet!

2. People who full on own who they are and love themselves.
It's one of the most inspiring things. People that know who they are, flaws and all, and just own it. I think that is such a difficult thing to achieve and still be a humble, grounded person.

3. Myself.
I feel like I'm finally the person I want to be and I'm learning to embrace everything about me. My looks, my personality and my beliefs. I know I will never stop growing and personal change is inevitable but right now I'm probably the most happy and confident in myself that I have ever been.

4. People that can play along.
There's nothing worse than people that can't play along with banter or whatever flight of fancy I'm on. I remember this guy getting really weird out when tried to get him to plan a bank heist with me. You can imagine how awkward things got after that.

5. Being excited or amused by the small things.
I never don't want to be excited about entering a toy store or seeing an animal in the street. I never don't want to be amused by small things like people fumbling their words or doing a funny dance.

6. Being so close to my sister.
Eva and I are like two peas in a pod. I kind of feel sorry for those that don't have that with anyone in their family or just at all. We have so much fun together.

7. Petting animals!
There are very few things I enjoy more than petting animals. Whether they are my pets, someone else's or animals at the farm.

8. Ice hockey and the Belfast Giants.
If you've read my blog for a while then you probably know this. Still, it felt worth a mention. I am so glad I decided to start going to the Giants on a whim at the beginning of last season. I thought I would have a good time and it would get me out of the house but I never thought it would introduce me to so many lovely people and I feel like it has helped me come out of my shell. I hope this season is more of the same! Though.. perhaps with the added bonus of winning the league.

9. My new blue hair.
I have wanted to dye my hair an all over bright colour for so long. Quite a while back I attempted it with purple and much of it didn't take at all. So I kind of swore of doing it again but I'm glad to say that the blue has taken a lot better. It's not one block colour. It's blue with tones of teal and seaweed green through it too. I love it and the mermaid compliments never get old.

10. Life.
Life is pretty good.

Hate

I wouldn't say I 'hate' much at all. I feel like it's a wasted emotion. Still, there are things I dislike as there are for everybody. Though this list will be a little more difficult as I recently did a post about my pet peeves. I'll try and not repeat any! If you want to check out that post you can find it here. Again, I'm trying not to go for the obvious here such as misogyny, racism, animal abuse, genocide etc.

1. Soggy bread.
Soggy bread is the devil and the thought of it makes me want to hurl.

2. Habitual hypocrites.
I don't blame people for hypocrisy every once in a while. We're all guilty of it now and then, however I dislike people who are habitual hypocrites or whose very fundamental beliefs are hypocritical. Like those who are homophobic because of religious beliefs but ignore all the other things the Bible forbids. Or people who complain about people judging them but have no problem judging what others do.

3. People that think mental health issues mean one thing or effects people in one way or that certain people are immune.
I think some people seem to have trouble understanding that mental health is basically one big grey area. It's not black and white. No two people have the same experience.

4. That time my sister's Kawaii Box arrived before mine even though I ordered first.
Yeah... that about explains that one.

5. Having people staring at me pointed out to me.
I hate that more than I hate people staring at me. A lot of the time I'm oblivious to people staring because I'm too busy going about my business, so I don't really appreciate having it pointed out. I'm more likely to get annoyed at that person than the person doing the staring.

6. Being a picky eater.
I get frustrated at myself for how picky I am but I can't help it. I have a really weak stomach and it turns very easily. I don't do it on purpose. Why would I? Why would I want to limit myself like that?

7. Not having endless funds.
Self explanatory. Not to be confused with 'endless funs' as my sister thought I meant.

8. First person writing.
This is a pet hate of mine. 9 times out of 10 if a book is written in first person I am much less likely to love it and much more likely to cringe. It just reminds me of really bad roleplay from back in my teens. I think to pull off first person it takes a particularly talented writer so it doesn't end up sounding almost robotic.

9. Fringe splits.
Nobody looks good with a fringe split.

10. When people make jokes about putting salt on my snails or adding a little bit of butter and garlic.
It doesn't offend me or anything. It just gets old.

There you have it. Ten things I love and ten things I hate. I've decided to opt out of nominating others. I know, I know. I should spread the love! But I get really anxious nominating people for these things. Anyway, hope you enjoyed!

Tell me something you love and hate in the comments.
