My Week In Words | #49 2015

"It's a wonderful thing to be optimistic. It keeps you healthy and it keeps you resilient."
Daniel Kahneman

Welcome to another belated edition of My Week In Words. I'm really hoping to have these updated by Christmas. Thankfully I haven't been up to much the last few weeks so typing these up hasn't been super time consuming. I've just been procrastinating a lot. Anyway, this instalment covers from Sunday 29th of November to Saturday 6th of December. Enjoy!

I was grateful for my fry up when I got up on Sunday. I was a little less hungover than the morning before but I was still feeling fragile, almost like I had a cold developing. I also got the first use out of my new Friendship Four travel mug.

To say the fried foods and tea hit the spot would be an understatement. There was a Belfast Giants match at 4pm and although I wanted to complete the full hockey weekend, I wasn't sure I'd manage it. My aunt Karen had agreed to take me and as she hadn't been to a game in the while I made the extra effort to go. Though my aunt told me on the way there she hadn't been fussed on going and only went because she thought I wanted to go. So naturally I felt a little bad but I think she enjoyed the evening anyway.

We would have enjoyed it a lot more had the Belfast Giants won but I guess a perfect weekend is too much to ask for. Although I was shattered by the time I got home I had to sort out my snails as it was a little overdue. I also spent time with Eva as she was leaving for Amsterdam in the morning. She ended up sleeping in beside me.

Eva was leaving super early on Monday so I only got to say goodbye to her from my bed. After she left I went back to sleep. I didn't get up until late after that and it wasn't long until I heard from Eva that she'd landed safely in Amsterdam. I had breakfast and entertained myself with YouTube as I ate. I was a little productive during the day, sending emails and working on My Week In Words. I also sent Santa my Christmas list. It had been difficult to compile a list this year. I feel like it's getting harder to know what I want and what other's want each year. I think this year will be the last list year as it's most likely going to be the last year living in the same house as my parents at Christmas.  In the evening I watched television with Dad, let Rue out to run around in her ball and after supper I got into bed. I wasn't long into bed before I got a phone call from Eva and she told me all about her first day in Amsterdam.

Tuesday marks the day I became addicted to Degrassi: The Next Generation. I spent the whole day watching the first season and even finished the fifteen episodes and made a start on the second season. That's all I have to say for that day.

I got up late on Wednesday, after spending a good chunk of the night before watching season two of Degrassi. I continued watching it while I ate breakfast. In the afternoon I FaceTimed with my sister, Jann, and caught up with what she's getting up to in her life in London. Later I worked on My Week In Words before watching more Degrassi. I eventually took a break from Degrassi to clean out my snails before bed.

Mum went to work on Thursday, leaving me by myself as Eva and Dad were also at work. I spent most of the day watching Degrassi and finished season four and got started on . Yes, I was making my way through the seasons that fast. Dad came home around 1pm to fix me lunch and then I was by myself again. At about 4:30pm I heard a knock on the door and thought I was safely hidden in the kitchen with the door closed until the postman came around the side of the house and spotted me! The dogs were going mad and I had to try and mime to him that I couldn't answer the door. It felt like the longest most awkward moment of my life but it was probably less than a minute. He mimed that the package needed signed for and that he'd bring it back tomorrow. I'm not sure he ever did though. After that day I started hiding in my room with the curtains closed when I was alone, to avoid it happening again. Which it would have considering how much post we were getting because of Christmas. When Mum and Dad finally came in they brought me a Burger King and my mum also treated me to some blind bags.

The rest of the evening was spent watching Degrassi and then bed to watch more Degrassi.

Friday was an ice hockey home game day but sadly I had to miss it with Eva being in Amsterdam and it was a bit of a rush for Dad or aunt Karen to take me after work. I think Dad needed a break from driving me to and from the arena after the weekend before. I was a little bummed out that I was missing the teddy toss though. A teddy toss is where everyone throws teddies on to the ice at a certain point and then they are donated to charity. Anyway, my mum went to work and I hid in my room and watched Degrassi all day. I really wasn't feeling well and I wanted to go to bed but I couldn't until my dad came home around 4pm. So I sat like a zombie a my laptop. To be honest I hadn't felt well since the hockey weekend. I don't know why but I felt like I was beginning to get the cold but it never amounted to anything. Probably a mixture of being tired, being around so many people, alcohol, not eating properly and getting soaking. When Dad came home I got into bed and watched Degrassi. I also kept updated with the Giants game via Twitter. They won. I got up later on and chilled for a while before having supper and heading back to bed.

I thought when I woke up on Saturday that Eva would be home but she wasn't. I stayed in bed for a while after I woke up and read while Dad made the breakfast. I had only just started eating when Eva arrived home, just in time to join us and get in on the fry up! She gave me my present, which I wish I would have photographed but I didn't. She got me a black t-shirt with a marijuana leaf on it. It's so cool. I'll probably take a photograph of me wearing at at some point. She also got me a lovely little wax burner. It's a blue heart. While we ate Eva told us all about her time in Amsterdam and what it's like. Then once we'd finished we set up my laptop and she showed me all the photos. At first she didn't think it was a good idea we go anymore as she said it wasn't very wheelchair accessible but she changed her mind. Although some of it isn't wheelchair friendly, she thinks the things we'd want to do would be fine. After a little bit of a catch up with Eva I had to get my shower and get ready to go to the game. Aunt Karen was taking me. I still wasn't feeling great and I sort of wanted to stay in with Eva but the Giants had advertised Christmas jumpers the night before and I was hoping they'd still have some in stock. When I got there I was bummed out that while they had my size they didn't have Eva's and she wanted one too. I almost didn't get one since Eva couldn't but then I remembered that I let her get a puppy when there wasn't one left for me so I went ahead and bought mine, feeling a bit better about it. My anxiety was really bad throughout the game. I guess the coffee I had is to blame. We also lost, which was a bummer considering we'd won the night before. When I got home I decided to introduce Eva to Degrassi before bed.
