I am a feminist. I'm also more.

"If feminism wasn't powerful, if feminism wasn't influential, people wouldn't spend so much time putting it down."
Jessica Valenti

I saw this video 'Lauren Southern: Why I'm not a feminist' today on my Facebook feed. Someone had shared it from a page called Only For Men and the video was posted with the caption 'Girl DESTROYS feminism in 3 minutes!' I rolled my eyes and gave it a watch. I mean, I'm always up for learning. And admittedly in my teens I'd said the same thing but more on that later. If you haven't seen the video you might want to give it a watch before I continue.

My Week In Words | #11 2016

"No one appreciates the very special genius of your conversation as the dog does."
Christopher Morley

Welcome to this week's belated edition of My Week In Words. I'm having a bit of a rest week as I have a lot on, but I still wanted to keep on top of My Week In Words even if it's a little late. The running theme this week was pets! But I also had fun shopping and also with some cute mail I received. This post covers from Sunday 6th to Saturday 12th of March. Enjoy!

Bloo's Reviews | RPDR S8 First Impressions!

In today's post I'm going to discuss my first impressions of the twelve queens that graced our screens in the first episode of season eight of RuPaul's Drag Race. Originally I was going to write a review for the whole episode but I felt like it was going to end up too long when including my first impressions. I also didn't want to share any spoilers as I know many people probably won't have seen the episode yet. I may review the episode at a later date.

Pets 'n' Stuff | Pet Store Real Talk

"The greatness of a nation can be judged by the way its animals are treated."
Mahatma Gandhi

Recently the photo of a hamster in a Pets At Home store in England caused an uproar online. The hamster was balled up in the corner of a glass tank with it's eyes shut. Personally the photo itself isn't enough evidence of any out of the ordinary malpractice for me but it was accompanied by text where the poster claimed the hamster was "seriously unwell" and "also in a cage with other Syrian Hamsters who were fighting and causing injuries", which she had posted on the Pets At Home Facebook page. To which they replied that the hamster was "absolutely fine".

People began sharing and replying to the post, telling their own experiences of Pets At Home. Many complained about the conditions of the animals, that they'd seen or been sold sick animals and called into question Pets At Home's care practices and the training of their staff. So I decided to write a post about the reality of the situation and what you should know if you're buying from pet stores and specifically Pets At Home.

My Week In Words | #10 2016

"Pets are humanizing. They remind us we have an obligation and responsibility to preserve and nurture and care for all life."
James Cromwell

Welcome to this week's instalment of My Week In Words, yet another belated edition. I'm still getting used to having a second blog but I'm sure nobody means. I wasn't tell well this week but I was still somewhat productive. I wrote about toys, bought things I shouldn't and witnessed history. That's what we're calling Leo finally winning an Oscar, right? Anyway, read on to see how I spent the first week of March. Gosh, feels crazy that I'm saying March already. This post covers from Sunday 8th of February to Saturday 5th of MarchPlease do enjoy!

My 'To Read' List

"Reading is a basic tool in the living of a good life."
Joseph Addison

Today's post is inspired by the lovely Amanda from Tea Time Tail's post, March TBR List. She says in her post that they say the best way to get something done is to write it down and I figured I would take a leaf out of her book and do just that. So today's post is a list of five books that I'm going to read next. Some have been out for a while but I've not gotten around to reading yet and others are being released in the next few months. All of these books are adult romance, so just a heads up if that isn't your thing. Now on with the list!

My Week In Words | #9 2016

"I have gained so much more from my experiences of being open and loving humanity rather than being jaded and being closed-off."
Mary Lambert

Welcome to this belated edition of My Week In Words. I'm still getting used to having a second blog and writing an extra post a week. Well, that an I just suck at focusing. This week was full of body positivity, toys and ice hockey! Today's post covers from Sunday 21st to Saturday 27th of February. I can't believe February has been and gone already. I didn't even notice the extra day! Anyway, enjoy.
