Toys 'n' Stuff | My Little Pony Mystery Minis Haul

"I would rather live in a world where my life is surrounded by mystery than live in a world so small that my mind could comprehend it."
Harry Emerson Fosdick

Well, it has been quite a while since you've seen a toy post on this blog. If you have been reading my blog for a while you're probably aware that I decided to make a separate blog for toy posts a while back. At the time I thought it was a great idea but a couple of times I had wobbles where I wasn't sure if I'd done the right thing. This blog is sort of the only thing I've ever consistently stuck at and I thought I would feel the same motivation with a separate toy blog - if not more - but I didn't. I do love writing about toys but I guess not enough to sustain a blog. (How do people stick within a strict niche?) Anyway, for now at least I've decided to put the toy blog on the back burner and start posting about my toys on this blog again. Maybe at some point I will feel the motivation for my toy blog again but for right now I think this is the right move. So on with today's post!

Yesterday Eva and I found My Little Pony Funko Mystery Minis in Smyths. They had two full boxes and naturally - since we're supposed to be saving because we're now adults and living on our own - we decided to buy a full box between us.

Here's some photos of the box art.

Below are the different ponies you can get in this series. Some are regular colours and others are black bodied. I'm not really sure how I feel about the black bodies if I'm honest. I guess they're something different? As you can see from the back of the box you have a 1/12 chance of getting each pony. That should mean that we got a whole set between us but someone must have swapped out one of the boxes as we ended up getting a duplicate. A bit of a bummer as we missed out on Nightmare Moon, someone we both really wanted. Oh well, next time!

Now on to who I got:

Shining Armor

Queen Chrysalis

Princess Cadance

Sweetie Belle

Maud Pie

While I love every pony that I got I particularly love Maud. She's been one of my favourite characters since I was introduced to her and I was really hoping I'd get her at some point, which usually means I won't. I also really wanted Queen Chrysalis even though I haven't seen her in the show yet. I just really love her design. I really like Princess Cadance too but I do wish she was her real colour rather than black. It would make it a little cooler that I got both her and her bae, Shining Armor.

The duplicate we got was Sweetie Belle. So I got her and Scootaloo and Eva got her and Apple Bloom. Hopefully I'll get Apple Bloom at some stage too because the Cutie Mark Crusaders are too adorable.

Which pony is your favourite?

  1. ahhhh my sister would love these!!!

  2. I love your toy posts! These My Little Pony figures are so cute. My favourite out of the figures you got is definitely Scootaloo. I just love how bright he/she is. Looking forward to more toy posts :)

  3. Aw they're so cute, it's a shame that you ended up with a duplicate!
