You Asked. I Answered.

"There is no point in asking a man a question until you have established whether he has any reason to lie to you."
Ken Follett

Howdy everyone and welcome to today's post. I've wanted to do a Q&A post for ages but could never drum up enough questions to put one together. So thank you everyone who sent me questions this time. If you have anymore please leave them in the comments and maybe they'll feature in my next Q&A post. Thanks!

Danielle

You seem to be super close to your sister Eva but have you always gotten on well or did you ever fight as kids?

Despite the fact that there's five years between us we always shared friends. The street I grew up on had a lot of kids of all mixed ages and the older kids looked out for the younger ones. So I never had that feeling of having of her being too clingy or cramping my style. Of course we had arguments now and then, we still do but on the whole we've always been very close. In fact I can only remember one big fight from when we were kids. It's a really stupid fight too. We were brushing up in our back garden - I could walk at this stage so Eva was about 3/4 and I was 8/9 - and we had an adult sized yard brush and one for kids. We both wanted the adult one and Eva grabbed it off me and because of my unsteady balance I fell and hit my head. All over a yard brush. Our fights are about as stupid nowadays to be honest and forgotten as fast.

Are you Bloo daba de daba day?

Yes, yes I am.

I've seen your Me Before You post, are you going to watch the movie?

Yes. I will watch the film but I'm not going to the cinema to watch it. I don't want to spend that much money to see it and I really don't want to endure the stares of people wondering if I feel like Will. I'll watch it online from the comfort of my own home. Maybe I'll even live Tweet it.

Also how often do you dye your hair? It's stunning.

Thanks! Uh, it's every few months. Just whenever it needs it or when I feel like it. At the moment I'm actually trying to lighten the teal colour as much as possible so I can change it to a different shade of blue. One with less green tones.

Who or what is your biggest inspiration in life and why?

Everything. What I love about life is that inspiration can come from anywhere. I particularly love the inspiration that comes from the unexpected or the abstract.

Which superpower would you have and why?

Teleportation. Is that a superpower? I just want to be able to zap and be at a place. Travelling sucks at the best of times but it's even worse as a disabled person. Electric wheelchairs and rain don't mix well. Wheelchairs and public transport aren't great either. Plus it means I could have longer to get ready as I wouldn't have to make time for travel. It's a win, win, win.

Cheryl

If you won £1000, how would you spend it?

Hrm. Since Eva and I just started living independently I would probably either save it or buy something for our house. Perhaps our new sofa and chair for the living room. I'm good at this adulting, right?

Amy

What was your dream job when you were in infant school?

As a kid I wanted to be a dancer, a vet or in the army. Or you know... all of them. I mean Barbie did it so why couldn't I?

What is your lifetime #1 favourite Disney song?

Oooh, that's a tough one. I'll Make A Man Out Of You from Mulan never gets old. However, my favourite soundtrack overall is probably The Lion King II: Simba's Pride. If you ain't familiar you need to get on that. Oh.. and I also love I Won' Say I'm In Love from Hercules. Gosh, I can't narrow it down!

What's in the pipeline for your next pet?

I'm undecided yet. Eva and I have talked about rescuing some rats. I'd also love to rescue some feeder mice. Other than that I would really love a leopard gecko as my first reptile as I've never owned any. So yeah, any of those could be next. Or something completely different. Who knows? Hopefully it won't be for quite a while yet.

How did you get your nickname Bloo?

Ah, I'm sure I've told this story on my blog before but since you ask. My parents nicknamed Sara Blue as a baby because I had big blue eyes. It kind of stuck and in my teens I started using it for social media and my screen names. Then one day I Googled myself - as you do - and found out there was a porn star called Sarah Blue. Naturally I had to change the spelling to stop us being mixed up with each other. I couldn't handle having to break it to people that I'm not in fact super hot porn star.

Do you think your overall personality and character would be much different if you had grown up "able bodied"?

Yes. At least to some degree. Though I guess I'll never know if it would have been for the better, worse or just different. I have to say though that I'm pretty happy with how I've turned out so I don't think I'd change it.

If you could pick to be put into the body of an animal for a week what would you be?

It would have to be a wild animal. Maybe a horse. I like the idea of running really fast. Or a sea lion so I could swim fast. Whatever type of animal I am I want to be doing something fast.

Eimear

If you could only eat one takeaway for the rest of your life what would it be?

Ah, tough one. Considering how much takeaway I eat I really don't like it very much. I'm going to say Chinese because I really love the aromatic duck with pancakes. I'm also newly into fried rice dishes. But then again... I could probably learn to make them myself, so perhaps I should go with a takeaway that would be hard to replicate. Perhaps KFC in that case. I miss the old chips though. If I'm going to be forced to eat this one takeaway forever can I request the old chips?

  3. Such a great post getting to know more about you and your illustrations are lovely as always! I know what you mean with the porn star mix-up too - boys in my class in secondary school used to google everyone's names and there's a lot of Jenna's in that industry haha... Also, Chinese takeaway is by far the best.
