A Tribute To My Granny

"In loving memory."

I haven't really spoken about this but on the 1st of September my maternal grandmother passed away. I didn't talk about it because everything felt so generic and fake. I didn't want people telling me how sorry they were for my loss and I didn't want sympathy. I didn't want people assuming how I felt about it, nor could I put it into my own words. I just wanted to process things by myself, in my own way. I wanted to grieve without having to perform it.

Bloo's Reviews | Into You by Jay Northcote

What do you do when the body you wake up in isn’t yours?

I received an arc in exchange for an honest review.

Rating: 2.5/5
Author: Jay Northcote
Series: N/A
Release: Available Now
Genre: M/M Young Adult Paranormal Romance

Jay Northcote is an author I've been familiar with for a while, so when the chance came up to review her newest release, I jumped at it. Admittedly, this was supposed to be up a little while ago but it's been a hectic few weeks with family stuff and I got my release dates mixed up. So apologies to Jay for that! But I digress, I had read two of her past releases - Helping Hand being my personal favourite - and I was excited to see what she had in store for this couple of characters, Scott and Olly. I was particularly intrigued once I read the blurb.

Should the Paralympics & Olympics merge?

It's the last day of the Rio 2016 Paralympics and what a ride it has been. I'd been anticipating them even more than the Olympics and I was not disappointed. Something that always coincides with the Paralympics is the age old debate, should the Paralympics and Olympics be merged? It has been a topic even more prevalent this year after it came to light that apparently there had been budget cuts to the Paralympics after money was spent to fix issues that occurred during the Olympics. As such they had to scale back some of the venues and media and it was touch a go for a while whether all the athletes - mostly those from poorer countries - would be able to make it as their travel grants were late being paid.

When it comes to the great merger question, more often than not it seems like a no brainer to most people and - more so this year than ever - there would a resounding 'yes!' My own opinion is more on the unpopular side of things, a strong no. At least right now. I had a few debates about this issue recently and I felt I would touch upon some of the arguments I see most often and give my reasoning for being against the merger at this time.

Mental Health | Hyperawareness

[TW: Eating/Choking/Stomach Issues]

This is a little bit of an impromptu post as I was going to just make a Twitter thread about it to get it off my chest and process what's been happening but then I was in two minds because I wasn't sure how to trigger warn or content warn it properly, so here I am. As I said, this is mostly for me and my own need to process this and get it off my chest. However, I also know I have a lot of readers that have mental health issues so if you can relate I'd love to hear from you. Yay, community!

Mini New Look & Tesco Haul

"Do not take life too seriously. You will never get out of it alive."
Elbert Hubbard

Howdy everybody! I've been feeling a little off my blogging game lately and just not felt like writing. I have a bunch of ideas but no motivation. I'm hoping that will come back soon but in the mean time here's a mini haul that I picked up when Eva and I went for coffee a couple of days ago. Some of the items were bought in New Look and others I got in Tesco. Now on with the haul!
