My Week In Words | #30 2015

"Everything looks cute when it's small."
Cynthia Rowley

Welcome to this belated My Week In Words. I've decided to change when I post to Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Admittedly I'd like to post earlier on a Monday but a few things cropped up that delayed me finishing off this post. Anyway, this post covers from Sunday 19th to Saturday 25th of July. Enjoy!

Baby and Edwin chilling in the sun on the back patio.
If you remember back to last week, I went to bed on Saturday night wearing a heart monitor I had put on on Saturday morning. I had to wear it for 24 hours, so I woke up early on Sunday morning to take it off. However, you may know from reading my blog that I'm not an early riser so I went back to sleep for a few more hours. When I woke up later my Sunday fry up was ready as usual. I also noticed that two of the probes from my heart monitor had left sore, itchy marks. It was not pleasant. I started on My Week In Words but after having a cup of coffee my anxiety started to spike so I had to take a break. I chilled out and watched swimming while I tried to take my mind off the anxious feeling. We also let Effy out on Sunday after her ordeal with the abcess. She was glad to get out and even celebrated by having some rain water of a bin lid. Yum! My aunt Karen visited for her usual catch up and I spend the rest of the evening relaxing before sorting out the pets before bed.

I realised on Monday morning I could watch later series of Heartland if I watched it on the Canadian Netflix. So I relocated to Canada! ...I'm kidding. I wish. I relocated my browser to Canada. Shush. Don't tell anybody. I started watching season six while I ate breakfast then continued watching a couple of episodes before I finished up My Week In Words. You can check it out here if you missed it. Later in the evening Eva's friend Jodie came round for a movie night. They went to the store and got some treats before we settled in to watch The Call, which I reviewed later in the week and you can check out here if you missed it. After the film I had to do a quick egg check and feed my snails. No eggs were found. We then had some supper before we watched the first episode of season five of RuPaul's Drag Race. Eva and I loved that season and Jodie hadn't seen it yet. Once it was over Jodie headed home and Eva and I headed to bed.

Eva was off on Tuesday so we had sausage rolls for breakfast while we watched Criminal Minds. I decided to cancel my pet insurance after debating it and talking about it with my parents. It was going to be difficult for me to afford £50 a month and I thought I would start a savings account for them instead as not all my pets could be insured anyway. In hindsight I do regret cancelling it for the cats with that's happening with Effy's face but as my dad said 'it's the chance you take'. Either way, I'll always find the money some way as I have a good support network and right now I'm okay. I have plenty of savings. But I digress! I decided to get a subscription to Kawaii Box. It's just the one off subscription. I'm undecided how often I'll get it. I was thinking of trying few different boxes as a one off and review them. I'd especially like to try the ones that cater to pets. On Tuesday I said goodbye to Dolores, one of the first cactuses I got from IKEA. It was a sad day but she'd finally succumbed to rot. RIP Dolores. A highlight of Tuesday was finding out my Selp Helf book by Miranda Sings has been shipped! I pre-ordered it ages ago and kind of forgot I'd ordered it. I can't wait until it arrives! Later in the evening I sorted the pets as usual before heading to bed.

Wednesday wasn't a very interesting day. I spent breakfast watching Heartland before I began working on my IKEA haul post and got it posted up. You can check it out here if you missed it. Later on I took part in my first Twitter chat in ages. I'd gotten a little bored of the chats with the same topics coming up all the time but the break had reignited my enjoyment. If you're a blogger and you don't stop by Twitter chats then I'd recommend checking them out. They're the best way to meet and get to know other bloggers.

I had leftover spaghetti for breakfast on Thursday while watching Heartland. I then worked on my review of The Call but ended up taking a break again when my anxiety flared up. I don't know why it's gotten so bad lately but I'm just glad I'm not choking as much. I ended up watching more Heartland to took my mind off it. My family had all gone out and I was left by myself. I was okay though as I had my watch dogs with me!

All that watch dog business is tiring...

After I took part in Twitter chats I finished off the review of The Call to post on Friday. Once gain it was time to do an egg check and feed my beloved slimey babies. I gave them lettuce, grapes and blue berries. However, Agron thought the fake plants looked much more tasty.

Feeling my oats wearing my new collar that arrived this
week from Etsy. Look out for a future review!
I woke up to breakfast courtesy of Eva on Friday and we watched Criminal Minds while we ate. A highlight of Friday was being nominated for the Infinity Dreams Award by Got Meghan. I also swapped my blog button with Beth from Mermaid In Disguise. Check out her button in the side bar! I also tinkered with my blog, taking away some links and such. Later I got ready as we were going to my aunt Karen's house to have a welcome home pizza night for my aunt Eileen who is home from Australia for a few weeks. It was a fun night and it was good to see my aunt and also see my granny so happy to have her home. I wish I had taken some photos!

I had breakfast with my dad on Saturday and chilled after. Eva ended up coming home from work early as she wasn't well. To cheer her up she had a package to open when she got home. I was excited too as she'd told me she'd gotten me a couple of presents. I have the best sister!

Eva is going to do a post about everything she bought but she hasn't had a chance to yet. So I'll show you what she bought me. I am in love.

The squishy is a wrist rest for typing but I'm using it to rest my elbow on as my elbow gets sore. I love alpacas and I've wanted some of these for ages! I plan to get a bigger plushie in the future and a couple more of these Tsum Tsum type ones. Sadly Edwin got this one before I was able to get a photo and you may be able to see it's a little grubby. Still cute as a button though! I'm a little late to the party as I've had friends very into Japan and Japanese stuff for a long time but I'm so glad Eva got me into it as it's right up my alley. If you would like to check out the site she bought these at it's called Tofu Cute.
Eva wasn't well enough to head to aunt Karen's for our usual Saturday get together. I was a bit bummed out about going without her so I brought a little mascot with me. Is it weird at 25 that I still like bringing toys with me to places? Anyway, I brought Noteworthy with me. I'd finally found him in Tesco the night before. I checked through all the blind bags and he was in the second to last. I've wanted him ever since Eva got him. We'd planned a movie night with my aunt Karen and my aunt Eileen but we weren't sure if it was still on as Eva wasn't well. Luckily she felt better a while later and my dad went to pick her up and bring her to my aunt's, along with our Chihuahua boys! They'd slept with Eva in bed all day so they were bursting with energy. They barely stopped the whole time. I'd seen the film before so I didn't mind the distraction. We watched Soul Surfer. It's a great film and I recommend it. It's especially interesting since it's based on the true story of Bethany Hamilton. My dad picked us up and on the way home we got a McDonald's.

And that's pretty much my week! I've decided to add something new to My Week In Words and that's links to highlight some of my favourite posts I've read that week. I thought I'd spread the love a little more. I got the idea from Underland To Wonderland. I was just going to pick five but I couldn't narrow it down. Please check em out!

  1. Hoping Effy is doing better Sara. Also very jealous of the bond you and your sister have! As an only child I've always admired that kind of thing.
Love how spoiled these snails are too!! :P

Thank you very much for mentioning me aswell!!!

    1. Sorry I'm a bit late replying to this! I'm hoping this second time round will be it and the antibiotics will kick the infection in the butt! And yeah, I'm very lucky! Not sure she's so lucky though. Lol. Haha. They deserve it and so do you! :D xo
