Pets 'n' Stuff | Showing Off My Babies

"I'm a real animal lover. I adore animals of all shapes and sizes."
Tamsin Egerton

A few days ago I was cleaning out the baby snail tank and giving the cuties their first baths, so I figured I would take the opportunity to take some photos of them. Since I've already spammed Instagram and Twitter with an abundance of snail related posts I thought I'd pick some of my favourite photographs and show off my babies in a blog post too.

Vegan Haul | The Vegan Kind Jul/Aug

"To keep the body in good health is a duty... otherwise we shall not be able to keep our mind strong and clear."

This is not a sponsored post.

You may have seen earlier in the week I posted an update on my transition to a plant based diet. I was going to include that update with this post but went a little more in depth than I had planned to and as such covered some things that some may find triggering, i.e. food and eating disorders. If you missed that post and want to read how things are going you may find it here. In it I talk about the fact I am expanding my diet and trying new things, particularly vegan friendly foods. So I figured what better way to try new things than a subscription box! So I signed up for The Vegan Kind

Everyday Ableism | #ShitAbledPeopleSay

Everyday Ableism #ShitAbledPeopleSay
I had another post in mind for the this edition of my Everyday Ableism series but sometimes something happens in the world of disability and gives you something else that must be addressed. A few weeks back now the hashtag #shitabledpeoplesay started popping up on my Twitter feed. I found myself nodding along in agreement to a lot of what I was seeing and soon began adding my own. I added one off the top of my head and it sort of snowballed from there. I didn't realise I had so much to contribute to the hashtag until they started pouring out of me. So I decided to compile them into a blog post. If you're disabled, I'm sure you can relate to some of these. If you're abled and you've ever found yourself uttering one or more of these in the past, I hope that you might think twice before doing it again in the future. If you're abled and you're already taking offence because you've never said a problematic thing in your life, then okay. I mean, even I've said ableist shit but perhaps you're the un-problematic unicorn. If that's the case, then congrats and this post isn't for you. Now we've gotten that out of the way, on with the show!

Toys 'n' Stuff | Disney Haul

"Be happy for this moment. This moment is your life."
Omar Khayyam

Welcome to today's edition of my Toys 'n' Stuff series. It was going to be a Disney store mini haul from when I was in Belfast a while back. You may remember I already posted my Primark haul from that trip. However, I ended up finding some new Tsum Tsum figures in Tesco and decided I would include them in the haul too.

For a long time I've been bemoaning the fact the only Tsum Tsum figures I could get my hands on where the rubber ones. They were cute but I'm not a big fan of rubbery figures as stuff sticks to them a lot and the paint detailing tends to be rubbish. The American toy YouTubers I watch collected hard plastic figures and I just couldn't understand why that line was not available in the UK. Well, I must wonder no more! They are finally available.

My Month In Words | July 2016 Part 2

"The ultimate tragedy is not the oppression and cruelty by the bad people but the silence over that by the good people"
 Martin Luther King, Jr.

Welcome to the part two of July's edition of My Month In Words. You can check out part one here if you missed it. Most months I will try and keep it down to one post but I guess I just have a lot to say about July. Enjoy!

My Month In Words | July 2016 Part 1

"It takes an endless amount of history to make even a little tradition."
Henry James

Welcome to part one of the July edition of My Month In Words. I've decided to split the month of July into two parts as it was pretty packed full of stuff and I suck at trimming things down. Catch part two in a day or two. If you missed my June instalment you can find it here. July felt like a long month. Some of the things that happened feel like forever ago. Some great things happened and some not so great things happened but thankfully, I feel like the good things made up for the crappy parts and I hope it all makes for a fun read. Enjoy!
