Christmas Decoration Haul

Howdy and welcome to today's post. I know it's still November and this is my third Christmas related post already but what can I say? I'm super excited for Christmas this year. As I've mentioned, this year is the first year my sister and I are living by ourselves and have a whole bungalow to decorate. Over the last couple of years we've been stocking up on decorations but we still didn't have quite enough, so we went out and raided a couple of stores. We hit Dunnes Stores, Poundland, Asda and B&M. There's still some decorations we need to get but we aren't going to run out of baubles any time soon. Now on with the haul!

Books 'n' Stuff | The Elf On The Shelf
"Have you ever wondered how Santa could know if you're naughty or nice each year as you grow?"
The Elf On The Shelf

Howdy and welcome to today's blog post. It's a bit of an unboxing and a bit of a review. I've been eyeing up The Elf On The Shelf for a while but considering I have no kids, I wasn't sure if I could justify splashing out the £29.95 it cost. However, once I figured out that I could probably incorporate it in my blog some how it didn't seem like such a frivolous spend. I'm wanting to start a few new traditions this year as a lot of our old family traditions won't be happening or at the very least will be changing somewhat. I figured some elf fun might be exactly the kind of tradition I'd like to start.

Books 'n' Stuff | Daring Fate by Megan Erickson
"Life was hard, then you died."

Author: Megan Erickson
Series: Silver Tip Pack
Release: 14/11/16
Genre: M/M, Shapeshifter, Fantasy Romance
Daring Fate is the first in Megan Erickson's new shapeshifter series, Silver Tip Pack. If you've been reading my blog for a while you'll be familiar with Megan's work as I've reviewed her collaboration with another of my favourite authors, Santino Hassell. I thoroughly enjoyed Fast Connection and can't recommend it enough. You can read that review here. Although Fast Connection is the only other book I've reviewed by Megan Erickson, it's just one of many that I've read and loved. I recommend checking out her other works too. Basically all of them. But I digress, back to Daring Fate.

Christmas Decoration Wishlist
"Christmas makes me happy no matter what time of year it comes around."
Bryan White
Howdy and welcome to my first Christmas related blog post of 2016! I can barely believe it's this time of year already, although I'm sure some of you would argue that it isn't. Last year I didn't blog much at all around Christmas because I took a bit of a hiatus as I was in a bit of a blog rut. This year I want to make sure that doesn't happen but I also just want to try to be more organised in regards to Christmas in general.

My mum always stuck with white lights with a mostly red and gold theme. Eva and I have decided to go for a brighter and more colourful tree. Something a little more fun than vintage. So here are some decorations I'd like to add to my collection. I'm looking forward to growing the collection over the years like my mum has. It's exciting to me that some of what we buy now will be what we bring out for years to come.

The Return of the Bin Bag Witch!
"But I love Halloween, and I love that feeling: the cold air, the spooky dangers lurking around the corner."
Evan Peters
Howdy everybody! I had hoped to have this post up yesterday but some unforeseen family issues came up and I wasn't able. Hopefully everyone isn't too Halloweened out to enjoy this post. As usual I had no plans for Halloween. It's a holiday I've always loved the idea of. I mean I was your average goth teen, so how could I not? But it's never been something my family got super into and I don't really have friends to go out or have house parties with. I figured when I had my own place that I'd go all out with decorations and make it fun for just myself but this year - my first year in my own place - we didn't decorate at all as my sister has been crazy busy. So I've just about accepted the fact I'm never going to experience Halloween the way that others do. The last few years I've done my make up and took photos. You may remember this post from last year. However, this year I had no plans to do that until I came across a post on Twitter. Alana from A Rose For Epona asked what everyone's go to Halloween costume was as a kid and mentioned she'd perfected the art of the Bin Bag Witch! Nostalgia hit me like a train. That was everybody's go to when I was a kid and I remarked that it was something I didn't see anymore. One thing led to another and Alana and I decided to bring the trend back! Even giving it it's own #binbagwitches hashtag.
